c0rnfields: Kenneth James Weishuhn (pictured above) was a fourteen year old boy from a small town in northwestern Iowa. He was kind, funny, and the best friend anyone could ask for. A few months ago, Kenneth told his family and friends that he was gay. Many people supported him and were so proud of him for being strong and knowing who he was. Others, however, were not so kind. Kenneth was bullied because of who he was. Taunts of ‘fag’ and ‘homo’ were shouted in the hallways as he walked to class. Though Kenneth seemed to ignore these words, a smile never leaving his face, they sunk in. The bullies and their insults became too much. Kenneth took his own life this weekend. At the age of just fourteen, bullies drove this young man to suicide just because he was gay. He will never grow up, he will never graduate, he will never fall in love, he will never experience so many things that every person should. I see these posts on Tumblr all the time. But I have never had anyone so close to home. I didn’t know Kenneth personally but from what many of my younger friends say, he was one of the best people on this Earth.  And because of bullies, he is dead. Rest in peace, Kenneth. I’m glad that you’re looking down on us. Please pray for his family and friends. And please, please, PLEASE, think before you open your mouth. Your words can kill.
